About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Pastry Extern. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume professional kitchen, serving multiple outlets including a cafe, bars, restaurants, in-room dining, and banquets.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and bake pastry products in the pastry shop, including pastries and desserts for restaurants and banquets.
  • Decorate pastries and desserts with creativity and skill.
  • Maintain adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensure proper storage and refrigeration.
  • Ensure spoilage and waste are kept to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
  • Line up baked products in mobile carts according to the needs of the particular outlet or function.
  • Set daily pars on all products to ensure freshness.
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Maintain a professional attitude, demeanor, and appearance.
  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited culinary school.
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours for a minimum of 6 weeks, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Passion for pastry and culinary arts, as well as hospitality.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Team player.
