Position Overview:
As the Aviation Operations and Maintenance Lead, you will oversee a dedicated team of skilled aviation technicians during the 2nd shift, ensuring effective support for Test and Evaluation Programs related to aircraft and test article assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage a team of production technicians, assigning daily and long-term tasks to optimize performance.
- Conduct performance management through goal setting, feedback, coaching, and regular evaluations.
- Monitor attendance and manage time-off requests while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Uphold safety and operational standards by ensuring adherence to company protocols.
- Facilitate training for the workforce to guarantee safe execution of tasks.
- Collaborate with Program & Project Leaders, Engineering, Safety, Quality Management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance and testing activities for aircraft and related assets.
- Plan and implement aircraft builds and modifications, as well as laboratory equipment construction.
- Develop and maintain Test Configuration Management processes to ensure reliable testing information.
- Manage ground support equipment and maintenance schedules for test assets.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Aerospace sector (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and program management.
- Background in test and evaluation processes.
- Familiarity with Aviation FOD and GOP programs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively within time constraints.
- Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, as well as the MS Office Suite.
- Willingness to primarily work during 2nd shift hours with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Aviation Quality Management Systems (QMS) is preferred.
