Ocean Health Initiatives is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to join our Women's Health Department. This role is essential in providing comprehensive primary care services to our patients, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough health assessments for perinatal, prenatal, and postpartum patients, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
- Deliver direct care during labor, managing normal deliveries with expertise.
- Offer health education tailored to women across all life stages.
- Evaluate inter-partum patients, particularly those seeking family planning and gynecological advice.
- Provide patient and family education, health counseling, and advocacy services.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and nurses, to develop patient care policies.
- Participate in the OB/GYN call schedule as needed.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, ensuring follow-up on abnormal results.
- Supervise ancillary clinical staff in the OB/GYN department.
- Engage in administrative tasks as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
- Maintain accurate medical records and protect patient privacy.
- Participate in accreditation and compliance activities.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Three to five years of experience at the RN level in a medical or clinical setting is preferred.
- Active RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Licenses in the State of New Jersey.
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
