Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of Corinth. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the city's streets, drainage system, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general manual labor tasks to maintain streets, drainage system, and infrastructure as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment, and assist with maintenance work on tools and equipment.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of drainage system and roadways, including inspecting storm drains and drainage ditches, clearing trash and debris, and digging and filling holes.
  • Learn and perform a variety of work tasks and procedures, including repair and maintenance of streets, roadways, and infrastructure.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk of accidents.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning and maintenance work as directed.
  • Cross train in all maintenance tasks.
  • Respond outside of normally scheduled work hours in response to special events, natural disasters, emergencies, or critical incidents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of maintenance work experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of City policies and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions, and customer service standards and protocols.
  • Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment according to basic operating and safety procedures, perform heavy manual labor, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Work Environment

Work is performed indoors and outdoors at work sites throughout the City, requiring moderate physical work and the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
