Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join our team at Silver Eagle Distributors Houston. As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for conducting daily activities in grocery stores, including building displays, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restock coolers, shelves, and displays in assigned accounts to ensure optimal product visibility and availability.
  • Rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf to maintain freshness and meet product code date policies.
  • Assist and/or build displays with proper point-of-sale (POS) materials to meet retailer needs and maximize product sales.
  • Ensure POS materials accurately communicate product information to consumers.
  • Operate equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks to move product within an account.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with store personnel to ensure seamless execution of merchandising activities.
  • Continuously strive to achieve top sales performance in each account through effective POS management and product placement.
  • Stay up-to-date on Silver Eagle's complete portfolio of brands and packages to provide informed product recommendations to customers.
  • Submit daily merchandising activity reports and surveys for non-alcoholic products to ensure accurate tracking and analysis.
  • Communicate daily objectives with supervisors and team members to ensure alignment and coordination.
  • Manage time effectively to prioritize daily work needs and meet business objectives.
  • Practice safe working habits and adhere to company policies, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required.
  • One year of general work experience preferred, with prior grocery store or beverage industry experience a strong plus.
  • Military experience may be considered in lieu of some requirements.
  • Daily, in-person travel within the service territories of Silver Eagle required.
  • A valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record.
  • A dependable personal vehicle for work, with proof of liability insurance.
  • Required to work Saturdays, Sundays, and some holidays.
  • Able to handle alcohol and work within TABC guidelines.
  • Must have a smartphone with a camera and data capability.
Physical Requirements
  • This is a labor-intensive position that requires lifting, loading, pushing, and pulling cases weighing between 20-50 pounds per case and 160-pound kegs in specialty accounts.
  • Merchandisers consistently bend, reach, and squat while moving and stocking products.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack, dolly, and six-wheeler cart.
  • Continuous standing and walking, up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including high and low temperatures, wind, ice, humidity, rain, fog, hail, sleet, and snow.
  • Daylight, twilight, evening, and dark lighting conditions.
  • Noise, vibration, dust, dirt, airborne particles, and fumes.
