Job Description

PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Power Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and updating engineering standards that impact all levels of distribution and/or transmission systems design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support procurement efforts to increase material redundancy and resolve material shortages.
  • Collaborate directly with suppliers to foster strong business relationships.
  • Evaluate suppliers' ability to manufacture material effectively and reliably.
  • Review manufacturer drawings to ensure they conform to internal specifications and standards.
  • Develop and maintain publications describing material, material specifications, and installation of material.
  • Ensure all publications and materials comply with applicable federal, state, and governing body regulations and requirements.
  • Lead or assist in investigations into equipment failures, ensuring root causes are identified and necessary corrective actions are implemented.
  • Pursue, analyze, pilot, and review new technologies for cost reduction, reliability improvement, and wildfire mitigation.
  • Provide field support to address issues related to equipment, standards, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with field teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure safe and efficient operation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • A minimum of six years' experience in industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.
  • Understanding of governing body rules, regulations, and requirements in engineering standards.
  • Fundamental understanding of transmission and/or distribution system layouts, including their key constituent components.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a group of peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm in potentially charged conversations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • Advanced degree in EE or ME with emphasis on power.
  • Professional Engineering License.

Estimated Salary Range

$111,500-$131,200 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
