Responsibilities

As a PRN Nurse Practitioner (NP/ARNP) with Corizon Health, your responsibilities will include:

Delivering standard community care based on evidence-based practices for clinical services, including but not limited to sick calls, chronic care management, comprehensive assessments, and emergency care. When applicable, conduct daily visits to the infirmary and document encounters in the patient's medical records as assigned. The objective is to provide appropriate care at the right time and location. Providing on-call support as necessary for the role. Adhering to the approved formulary for therapeutic regimens prior to utilizing non-formulary procedures. Documenting relevant observations and logical conclusions to substantiate the need for non-formulary medications on the request form for Medical Director's approval when such medications are ordered. Utilizing available in-house resources for treatment or resolution of identified issues before considering off-site referrals. Providing emergency treatment on-site and responding appropriately in urgent or emergency situations. Demonstrating proper techniques for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and related drug therapies, with certification as required by credentialing. Upholding standards of medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures. Serving as a resource to other professional or non-professional personnel, providing guidance as needed. Attending Medical Staff meetings as required. Offering monthly in-service education to staff as requested. Participating in monthly quality of care reviews and chart evaluations as requested. Sponsoring physician assistants or nurse practitioners as necessary. Notifying the Regional Medical Director and Site Health Services Administrator of any schedule changes. Assisting in arranging coverage for medical services if unavailable for an extended period. Engaging in all quality improvement initiatives, including sentinel event reviews. Actively participating in the Utilization Review process and following established procedures. Providing appropriate healthcare to patients. Complying with state laws regarding the scope of practice. Diagnosing and treating patients within the established scope of practice. Ordering and, if necessary, performing laboratory studies, X-rays, examinations, and electrocardiograms as appropriate. Initiating consultation requests and non-formulary requests with supervisory physician's approval. Educating patients regarding medical conditions, medication usage, dietary considerations, weight management, and the effects of prescribed treatments. Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
