Medical Specimen Collector

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our team at Millennium Health. As a Specimen Collector, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and collecting high-quality specimens for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Process and package collections or shipping to ensure timely and accurate delivery to the laboratory.
- Serve as an intermediary between the practice/clinic and the laboratory, providing excellent customer service and communication.
- Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in the ordering portal.
- Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite to ensure seamless operations.
- Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable) and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients.
- 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus.
- Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality, and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
- Ability to ensure administrative, physical, and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Physical requirements: sitting 90%, walking 5%, standing 5%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

- Salary offered is dependent on qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
