Position Overview: This is a tenure-track faculty role situated at a leading agricultural research facility. The successful candidate will engage in a multifaceted research program focused on enhancing the sustainability and economic viability of crop production systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct applied research on major commodity crops and alternative crops in northern Montana.
  • Identify research needs through stakeholder engagement and discussions.
  • Examine sustainable wheat-based production systems and evaluate management strategies for alternative crops.
  • Investigate the effects of environmental factors on cropping systems in semi-arid conditions.
  • Utilize precision agriculture technologies to inform crop management decisions.
  • Collaborate with existing research programs and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
  • Communicate research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Participate in outreach activities and develop educational materials for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with precision agriculture tools and field research equipment.

  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and engage with diverse communities.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain necessary licenses within a specified timeframe.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
