Treatment Court Tribal Liaison Coordinator

The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Treatment Court Tribal Liaison Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for providing critical support to American Indian, Native Hawaiian, and Alaskan Native members participating in the Treatment Court process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and direct participants through the Treatment Court process, ensuring a comprehensive and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with American Indian groups/tribes through outreach programs, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Act as a liaison between the courts and American Indian participants, facilitating effective communication and addressing cultural issues.
  • Provide educational opportunities for court personnel to enhance their understanding of cultural differences and promote a culturally responsive environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with multi-agency systems, substance-abusing populations, and American Indian culture.
  • Successful collaboration between American Indian groups/individuals and government agencies.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and be self-motivated.
Working Conditions:

This role involves working in an office environment, with occasional exposure to verbal abuse and physical harm from irate or highly emotional individuals. The successful candidate must be able to work safely and effectively in this environment.

Physical Demands:

This position requires sitting for long periods, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, lifting, moving, and carrying light to medium objects, as well as operating office equipment.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

Possession of a valid Montana driver's license and proof of insurance are required. The successful candidate must also be able to obtain any necessary certifications or licenses.
