Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist

An MRI technologist is required to perform diagnostic testing using MRI and MRA equipment.
About the RoleThis part-time position involves working on weekends, specifically Saturdays from 7am to 1pm. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and possess a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Operate closed and open scanners, ensuring proper functioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Select imaging parameters and software options based on physician instructions, adapting to changing situations as needed.
- View images during exams, report anomalies to radiologists, and document observations for future reference.
- Sending images to PACs, archiving, and printing CDs as required.
- Maintain accurate comparison images for reading physicians.
- Foster effective communication with radiologists to determine exam protocols and requirements.
- Show empathy towards patients' physical and psychological needs throughout the MR exam.
- Collaborate with the Center Director to document any incidents that occur at the facility.
- Screen patients for precautions or contraindications before entering the magnetic field, researching implants and devices thoroughly.
- Perform daily QA checks on each magnet, maintain patient logs, and enter clinical information.
- Administer injections as necessary.
- Comply with HIPAA guidelines by maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Conduct thorough patient safety screenings prior to each exam.
- MRI Certification
- BLS/CPR Certification
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI technologist
- Proficiency in major MRI manufacturer equipment, with preference given to those with GE 3T experience (at least 1 year)
