Role Overview:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) operates within the neurology outpatient environment, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The APP primarily manages the neurological health of the designated patient population in a clinical setting and may engage with outpatient diagnostic testing teams, such as EMG and MRI. Typically, the APP is part of a service-oriented team, overseeing the care of outpatients.

In certain cases, the APP may also provide care for the same patient demographic in a consultative inpatient capacity or serve as a resource for the inpatient care team. The APP is expected to have a robust foundation in evidence-based practices and education, ensuring a safe and high-quality care environment.

The APP demonstrates advanced medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical skills, sound clinical judgment, and professionalism, which includes effective communication skills, timely documentation, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and competency validation.
