Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician II to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will perform complex pharmaceutical assistance work under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include inventory management, preparing medications for pharmacist review, delivering medications to patient areas, conducting medication area inspections, and providing technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare prescription drugs pursuant to medication orders with final pharmacist check prior to dispensing.
  • Prepare bulk medications via unit-dosing equipment and supplies.
  • Distribute patient medication and stock supplies to medication storage areas timely and accurately.
  • Provide customer service support, to include answering telephone calls and assisting in person with requests.
  • Enter and review medication information, prescriptions, and directions for use into databases or patient profiles, with the pharmacist providing the final check.
  • Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory by placing orders, receiving, and reconciling shipments, and updating the pharmacy software.
  • Set and adjust par levels based on usage.
  • Remove expired or excess medication from inventory.
  • Maintain files (i.e., invoices, outpatient prescriptions, controlled substance records) as required by the TSBP and DEA regulations, and hospital policy.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the Director of Pharmacy.
  • Maintain pharmacy equipment and medication preparation areas orderly with routine sanitizing as required.
  • Ensure security of the pharmacy and medications.
