Job Summary
The Desktop Support Technician delivers advanced technical expertise to ensure an efficient caregiver desktop experience. This role requires proficiency in the implementation, management, and troubleshooting of both physical and virtual desktop systems. The Desktop Support Technician will offer high-quality assistance to Monument Health caregivers through a work order ticketing system, phone support, or in-person interactions. Effective communication of issues and solutions to management is essential, as well as providing timely support to all IT teams in resolving caregiver-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits a high level of knowledge and skill regarding Monument Health's IT environment while delivering exceptional customer service to both internal IT teams and end users.
  • Collaborates closely with Systems Engineers and Network Engineers to maintain and deploy a standardized corporate desktop environment that ensures stability, performance, and productivity.
  • Implements and sustains a desktop environment that adheres to Monument Health's IT security protocols.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, PC Operating Systems, and corporate software to effectively troubleshoot technical issues in both physical and virtual desktop settings.
  • Possesses a strong comprehension of Monument Health's Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Engages with external subject matter experts and industry professionals to assist in developing strategic plans and roadmaps that keep Monument Health's desktop infrastructure at the forefront of healthcare technology.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities to mentor, support, and train Desktop Technicians and Help Desk personnel.
  • Evaluates and prepares specifications for the procurement of desktop products, including PC hardware and software for Desktop Technicians to order.
  • Provides essential support to the organization, division, and peers as a fundamental function of all IT professionals, including day-to-day peer support, emergent after-hours on-call support, and any necessary assistance to maintain highly reliable IT systems.
  • Documents processes and activities accurately to uphold highly reliable IT systems. Contributes required elements to Call Tracking, Project Management, Change Management, and Disaster Recovery Services Guides to achieve this objective.
  • Conducts virus/malware remediation and reloads/upgrades of devices.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting and support for Virtual Desktops.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies

Preferred:

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Related Field

Certification - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certification (MCSE) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; HDI Desktop Support Technician (HDI-DST) - HDI

Experience - 3+ years of Computer/Information Technology Experience

Physical Requirements: Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
