Job Summary

This position provides technical assistance to classroom staff, children, and families addressing children's development, challenging behaviors and/or other mental health needs. It promotes program quality through consultation and training. This position may also provide intensive support and training in a classroom setting as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to classroom staff on child development, behavioral health, and mental health needs.
  • Consult with families and children to address developmental and behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement training programs for classroom staff on child development and behavioral health.
  • Provide intensive support and training in a classroom setting as needed.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Special Education or related degree.
    • Minimum: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree.
  • Experience
    • Five years of experience teaching in early childhood classrooms.
    • Experience as a behavioral health therapist with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and/or experience working in an early childhood setting with children with identified disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
  • Early Head Start/Head Start/NC Pre-K experience.
