Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, you will assist in the general upkeep and in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within the medical center and its associated facilities.
- Complete assigned work orders and preventive maintenance tasks promptly, or communicate any challenges to your supervisor.
- Perform repairs, installations, and testing of electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
- Quickly identify and report any malfunctioning equipment.
- Strive to minimize maintenance and utility expenses through enhanced operational practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Exhibit professionalism when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adjust work hours to accommodate departmental needs.
- Request overtime with prior approval or as directed by your supervisor.
- Coordinate vacation and holiday schedules with supervisory consent.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Trade School Certification Preferred
Licensure:
- Journeyman License Required
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Capability to perform electrical, minor HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Basic computer proficiency (work order management systems).
- Strong communication skills.
- General knowledge or eagerness to learn about medical facility equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
- A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a recognized hospital Facilities department.
