Position Summary

The Servo Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in the disassembly, refurbishment, and evaluation of servo and proportional valves.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of hands-on training in electric motors and feedback systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of AC, DC, and servo motor design and operation.
  • Proficient in utilizing testing equipment to assess and calibrate various feedback devices, including encoders and resolvers.
  • Capable of disassembling and reassembling AC, DC, and servo motors with guidance.
  • Knowledgeable in cleaning, preparing, and painting motors using specialized equipment.
  • Skilled in the use of drills, grinders, torque wrenches, torches, and pneumatic tools.
  • Accurate in completing service reports and managing documentation.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills in managing parts and components during the repair process.
  • Communicates effectively with sales representatives regarding customer inquiries related to motor repairs.
  • Proficient in using computers for quoting, parts lookup, and job status tracking.
  • Able to provide training to junior technicians in motor preparation and teardown processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a variety of hand tools essential for repair tasks.
  • Employ measuring instruments such as micrometers and multi-meters.
  • Possess a basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Effectively disassemble and analyze valves.
  • Safely operate forklifts and lifting equipment.
  • Assemble standard servo valves with minimal supervision.
  • Set up and conduct tests on servo valves with limited training.
  • Utilize electrical testing devices competently.
  • Exhibit mechanical aptitude.
  • Regularly engage in physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic workshop environment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols by using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
