Position Summary:

BuddoBot Inc is seeking a skilled SAN Administrator to offer technical expertise and direction for storage operations at client locations. The SAN Administrator will be an integral part of the Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure Services (ECIS) Team, which encompasses various subsections and technology domains that manage the Government's Enterprise Network virtual and storage infrastructure services, including backup and recovery solutions.

The selected candidate will deliver advanced SAN support, which includes the configuration, implementation, and management of NetApp SnapCenter and volume snapshots, as well as ONTAP System Manager for software management. Responsibilities also include recovery procedures, hardware installation, and ensuring the security and accessibility of Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs), along with monitoring storage capacity and performance.

Expertise in storage clusters, both software and hardware, is essential, along with a strong understanding of Windows operating systems, VMware, and networking technologies. The environment utilizes the Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI) protocol and is primarily based on NetApp and VMware technologies.

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD – TS/SCI

Compensation: Salary will be determined based on educational background, certifications, relevant work experience, and professional qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the optimal functioning of Storage Area Network technologies.
  • Address escalated SAN tickets from the service desk, performing necessary administrative tasks and providing weekly updates.
  • Generate monthly SAN Capacity Reports and Performance Metrics.
  • Develop documentation and provide training to Tier 1 service desk personnel for managing standard SAN-related incidents and requests.
  • Facilitate coordination of incident tickets among Tier II, Tier III, and other relevant teams.
  • Utilize government-provided event management tools to monitor SAN health.
  • Support project initiatives related to SAN technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team and other departments on SAN-related issues.
  • Participate in the change management process, submitting requests for approval and attending review boards.
  • Escalate product-related issues to third-party vendors with Government consent.
  • Implement monitoring thresholds and conduct proactive event remediation.
  • Work closely with Government personnel to enhance SAN performance while proposing solutions to minimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and maximize Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Conduct analysis and remediation for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) in preparation for annual Cyber Readiness Inspections.
  • Provision new storage resources, including LUNs and VMware datastores, as required.
  • Assist in mailbox restoration efforts alongside the Exchange team using NetApp Single Mailbox Restore (SMBR).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in conveying information clearly and responding effectively to inquiries.
  • Aptitude for addressing challenges and resolving them positively.

Education and Certification:

  • Professional certifications such as NetApp (NCDA), EMC (EMCISA), and virtualization credentials.
  • IAT III Certification (CASP+ce, CCNP Security, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH).

Experience Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of iSCSI, CIFS, and NFS protocols.
  • Extensive knowledge of VMware vCenter, HA, and DRS.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and configuring SAN storage devices.
  • Solid understanding of networking and Windows Server configuration.
  • Experience with SnapCenter is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of NetApp SAN Storage Technologies.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office setting with a generally favorable working environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required, with potential off-hours work to support system releases and outages.
  • Physical demands include the ability to remain stationary for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
