Job Summary:

JANUS Research Group is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to design and implement a system's data models, data flow, interfaces, and infrastructure to meet the information requirements of a business or mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an overall organization data strategy that aligns with business processes and objectives.
  • Identify data sources, both internal and external, and develop a plan for data management that is aligned with the data strategy.
  • Monitor and optimize the data infrastructure.
  • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating operations, applications, and programming.
  • Prepare database design and architecture reports.
  • Advise higher-level leadership on critical data management issues.
  • Consult with customers and key stakeholders to evaluate functional requirements for Artificial Intelligence and data applications.
  • Collaborate with appropriate personnel to address classified data requirements and configure technical solutions to provide data integrity and security.
  • Provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.
  • Evaluate data storage requirements, prepare, and implement data backup, recovery, and secondary data storage and disaster recovery.
  • Plan and manage effective storage capacity strategies.
  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, system owners, etc., to design applications for data management.
  • Analyze and plan for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Recommend a bachelor's degree in data management or information technology.
  • Requires DoD cyber certification as an IAT level II.
  • Experience aligned to DoD Cybersecurity Workforce code 653 (data architect).
