We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician I to join our team at Bryan Health. As a Sterile Processing Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment.
- Follow established safety standards and protocols to prevent exposure to environmental, physical, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological hazards.
- Enter and maintain accurate data for the department's computerized instrument tracking system.
- Operate and maintain departmental equipment, including sterilizers, cart washers, and heat sealers, in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and department policies.
- Restock instrument sets with designated levels of orthopedic implants.
- Review surgery schedules to ensure preference lists are developed and implemented for each surgical case.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical linen.
- Perform biological monitoring on sterilizers and initiate recall processes as necessary.
- Inventory and restock specialty carts with sterile disposable supplies and instrumentation.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Prior sterile processing or applicable hospital experience preferred.
