Position Overview

The primary role of the Facility Maintenance Specialist is to execute cleaning and sanitation tasks, manage spill response for solid, hazardous, and recyclable materials, and conduct inspections and cleaning of Personal Protective Equipment.

Note: Mandatory overtime may be necessary; weekend shifts could be included in all schedules.

Work Schedule:

  • B Shift: Sunday to Tuesday, alternating Wednesdays; 5:10 PM to 5:42 AM
  • Second Shift

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the handling, packaging, and disposal of waste, recyclables, and hazardous materials, including operating trash compactors.
  2. Inspect and clean Personal Protective Equipment.
  3. Operate floor cleaning machines.
  4. Maintain cleanliness in break rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, and office spaces.
  5. Audit waste collection containers for proper condition, storage, labeling, and transport to disposal areas.
  6. Conduct respirator fit testing for employees as needed.
  7. Adhere to current Quality Systems requirements.
  8. Possess the ability to understand and communicate in basic English for training and team responsibilities.
  9. Follow Excell Lean Manufacturing procedures.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Basic reading, writing, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with personal computers for basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit for continuous standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves, respirators, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes as per established policy.
  • Capable of occasionally working in extreme conditions (hot, humid, cold).

Equipment Utilized:
Janitorial equipment, respirator fit testing devices, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
