Our hospital features nine operating rooms and dedicated radiology services, as well as nine comfortable inpatient rooms designed for optimal recovery.

TIS is proudly founded and co-owned by a distinguished group of surgeons from Dallas and Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas, specializing in various fields including orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, ENT, plastic surgery, urological care, and sports medicine.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately verifies and inputs medication orders for both inpatients and outpatients through CPOE.
  • Communicates with healthcare providers regarding necessary medication substitutions due to patient allergies.
  • Provides comprehensive drug and dosing information to nursing staff, healthcare providers, and patients as required.
  • Conducts daily reviews of PACU orders and adheres to established policies and procedures to prioritize workflow and ensure service quality.
  • Verifies medications brought from home by patients and facilitates the acquisition of non-formulary medications when necessary.
  • Assists in the ordering and receipt of narcotics from wholesalers.
  • Troubleshoots pharmacy and nursing-related issues as they arise.
  • Maintains and updates electronic physician order sets as requested.
  • Compounds low and medium-risk sterile preparations and performs quality checks on compounded products.
  • Conducts weekly narcotic inventory checks and monthly audits of Pyxis Medstations.
  • Participates in Code Blue events and provides medication safety training during nursing orientations.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution is required. A valid Registered Pharmacist License to practice in Texas is mandatory. A Doctorate degree and Sterile Pharmaceutical Compounding Certification are preferred. BLS Certification is also required.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Proficiency in MS Office and acute care experience are preferred. Excellent communication skills and a strong ethical foundation are essential.
