Role Description

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience across various aspects of the hospitality and real estate sectors. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with multiple departments, including asset management, investment analysis, corporate finance, and sustainability initiatives. Reporting Structure

This role is based in the company's office and may involve travel as necessary. The position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Investment Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Asset Management Team in enhancing performance across a portfolio of hotels, focusing on asset value optimization and investment goals.
  • Collaborate with hotel executive teams and senior leaders to evaluate performance metrics, business strategies, and recommend initiatives for revenue growth and cost efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial statements, conduct benchmarking studies, and prepare detailed performance assessments.
  • Evaluate value creation strategies, including developing financial models, return on investment (ROI) calculations, and presentation materials.
  • Gather and maintain market data, creating a comprehensive database of factors influencing market dynamics for each property.
  • Conduct market research in key urban areas and emerging target markets to identify local supply trends and demand drivers.
  • Assist the Investment Team in evaluating hotel acquisition prospects and gathering information for potential asset disposition opportunities.
  • Prepare materials for senior leadership and board meetings, including presentations summarizing industry trends, portfolio updates, and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in on-site property evaluations and market assessments as required, with some travel involved.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or hospitality management.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in hospitality operations, asset management, real estate, or consulting.
  • A strong interest in the travel and lodging sector, with knowledge of investment principles; experience in hospitality finance is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial documents and performance indicators, including hotel industry reports and financial statements.
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a detail-oriented and results-driven mindset.
  • Strong analytical abilities and business writing skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require prolonged sitting, lifting light weights, and using a computer keyboard.
