Position Summary
The HVAC Service Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various air quality systems. Key responsibilities include identifying and diagnosing issues with equipment, performing warranty services, and executing urgent repairs on specific units.
Core Responsibilities
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Traveling to residential and commercial sites as scheduled.
- Conducting assessments and consultations with prospective clients.
- Identifying customer requirements and discussing available solutions.
- Generating sales opportunities during service calls.
- Evaluating existing HVAC systems for performance and safety.
- Executing preventative maintenance on HVAC units.
- Carrying out performance evaluations using specialized instruments.
- Troubleshooting issues with current HVAC systems.
- Repairing malfunctioning HVAC equipment.
- Renewing service agreements for existing clients.
- Offering maintenance contracts to new clients.
- Maintaining an accurate inventory of tools and HVAC components.
- Adhering to the company's Code of Ethics and Team Guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
Tier I (Maintenance & Indoor Air Quality)
- One year of relevant experience in the HVAC sector or a comparable mix of education and experience.
- Responsible for equipment tune-ups and cleaning.
Tier II (Service)
- Three years of relevant experience in the HVAC sector or a comparable mix of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose service issues and perform minor repairs.
Tier III
- Five years of relevant experience in the HVAC sector or a comparable mix of education and experience.
- Proven capability to diagnose and execute repairs ranging from minor to complex.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
- Ability to climb ladders and navigate equipment.
- Heavy lifting may be required, including working in tight spaces.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry items up to 250 feet unassisted.
- Familiarity with operating handheld power tools.
- Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements.
- Willingness to work beyond 40 hours per week and up to 12 hours per day, as necessary.
Work Environment:
- Employees may encounter noise, dust, and fumes, and may work in confined or awkward positions. Outdoor work in various weather conditions may be required, including climbing ladders or working on rooftops.
