Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to serve as the Deputy Director of Support for the Department of the Army. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and executing business activities and critical support services for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the conduct of INSCOM's business enterprise processes, including the Business Enterprise Review Board, the Contract Action Review Board, and the Burn Rate Review Program.
  • Examine proposed requiring activity contract spend plan and strategies, recommend changes, and effect cost savings where needed.
  • Work closely with INSCOM Business enterprise teammates (G-8, Command Services Office, and Staff Judge Advocate) to implement cost control measures and maximize efficiencies.
  • Direct the planning and execution of financial processes, human resources management, military construction, facilities management, corporate information management, business planning, personnel resource assignments, and leadership skill development.
  • Oversee other critical support services such as risk management and special staff functions within the headquarters.
  • Assure unity of the command's high visibility, dynamic, and diverse business and planning programs, functions, and processes into a single command strategy.
  • Represent the command at Department of Army and DoD, as well as other high-level meetings with key officials of military services, industry, academia, and state and local governments.
  • Authority to set long-range goals and objectives, determine program emphasis, plan for long-range staffing and organization needs, manage organizational changes, and decide on the full range of personnel actions affecting the support staff.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two-year trial period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Position requires TDY approximately 20% or less of the time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
