About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Engineer to join our team at Smucker's Grandview facility. As a key member of our plant leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of our plant equipment, ensuring quality standards are met, and leading planning and production activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer plant control systems and serve as a primary administrator for plant control systems.
  • Work with Plant Engineering, E&I coordinators and technicians to identify losses and develop plans to eliminate them in areas of safety, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Maintain and improve electrical distribution systems.
  • Work with Engineering IS team to maintain and update plant Historical database standards and accuracy.
  • Own and manage plant Capital budget, tracking spending against budget and managing accordingly.
  • Develop the plant 5-Year Capital Plan, working with Finance, Operations, and Consumer TSO to ensure plans align with the Plant and SBA Masterplans.
  • Lead the Initiative Management (IM) Pillar for the plant, including implementation of IM tools and coaching/development of plant resources.
  • Manage Capital and Expense spending, ensuring finance standards are followed by project and start-up leaders.
  • Ensure successful project start-ups using IM tools, including development of equipment standards & specifications.
  • Participate in and provide technical feedback for new initiatives and product development.
  • Manage the facilities department and systems, ensuring proper maintenance of all facilities and maintaining property records for the site.
  • Lead the Grandview Sustainability Pillar on efforts to meet sustainability goals, including energy, water, and waste reduction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience leading or managing capital projects.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Profit and loss experience.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in building a high-performance work culture and systems.
  • Experience in one or more of the following technologies: process/making equipment, packaging equipment, process controls, electrical and/or controls engineering, facilities engineering.
  • Advanced TPM, Lean, Six Sigma or other experience with the implementation of High Performing Work Systems.
