Job Title: Plant Accountant

Our client in the food manufacturing industry is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Plant Accountant to join their team in the Greater Seattle Area. This is a fully onsite role with a full relocation package.

Job Overview:

The Plant Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, overseeing cost accounting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data specific to our plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for plant operations.
  • Track and report on production costs, inventory valuations, and cost variances.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts related to plant operations.
  • Reconcile accounts and manage month-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and cost management.
  • Work closely with plant management and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
