Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician I to join our Emergency Department team at Baystate Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including hygiene, skin care, mobility, and monitoring
  • Perform various technical tasks and bedside functions, including phlebotomy and EKGs
  • Assist with treatment plans and monitor patient conditions during treatment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and patients, recognizing culturally based needs
  • Initiate emergency procedures and respond effectively in emergencies
  • Function as a member of the team, assisting with clinical and non-clinical activities
Requirements
  • 4 or more years of acute or specialty-specific care setting experience, or at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English
  • CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association
  • Patient care experience and Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred
