Role Overview

We are seeking a Consultant in Insurance Consulting who can contribute to Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Associate, you will evaluate our insurance clients' business and technological challenges, crafting innovative solutions to facilitate transformation. Your responsibilities will include engaging in the requirements analysis process, fostering strong relationships with clients and team members, and developing industry and domain expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consulting services that encompass practices, expertise, and resources to address business challenges, while identifying and managing necessary process enhancements.
  • As a Product Owner, shape and drive the product vision and strategy, providing ongoing feedback to the team and guiding them towards the vision.
  • Establish a clear and ambitious product vision, effectively communicating 'the story' to key stakeholders and the team.
  • Oversee the complete product strategy from inception, assessing business value once the solution is in production.
  • Develop solutions, business cases, and roadmaps, presenting summarized recommendations that include relevant people, process, and technology solutions.
  • Create a comprehensive product vision, strategy, value proposition, and measurable business KPIs that the product will deliver.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings, aligning the product roadmap for differentiation and market leadership.
  • Enhance relevant insurance industry and technology knowledge, focusing on personal and/or commercial lines of business, including transformation programs.
  • Drive outcomes for insurance technology products, ensuring smooth progress in product development across multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify and support opportunities to build practice capabilities by developing service offerings and case studies.

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Product Owner.
  • 4 years of experience in an agile environment.
  • Experience managing product development deliverables, including requirements gathering, user story writing, acceptance testing, and product launches.
  • Proven understanding of the Life and Annuity insurance sector is essential.
  • A strong background in operations processing and commissions experience is advantageous.
  • Business Analyst designation (CBAP) is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to comprehend requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications or new features.
  • Experience or knowledge in eliciting requirements, analyzing, and developing solutions that meet business needs or crafting effective user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills are necessary to define and understand business needs and determine suitable solutions for organization-wide change.
  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
