Key Responsibilities- Assist the Manager in overseeing the care delivery system, focusing on continuous service improvement.
- Participate in the development and execution of the annual operational budget, with monthly performance monitoring.
- Lead daily operations of the unit, ensuring high-quality patient care is provided 24/7.
- Conduct patient rounds to gather insights on care delivery and satisfaction levels.
- Coordinate clinical operations and patient care activities in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Develop and implement unit-specific quality improvement initiatives, utilizing lean principles for problem-solving.
- Establish and pursue unit goals aimed at enhancing the quality of patient care.
- Build strong relationships with physicians, staff, and peers, ensuring effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and departmental protocols.
- Oversee patient care assignments, ensuring satisfaction through effective rounding and intervention.
- Support the onboarding and orientation of new hires, working closely with unit preceptors.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise by participating in patient care to maintain nursing skills.
- Serve as a role model for staff, adhering to departmental standards and attending relevant meetings.
- Utilize critical thinking and lean principles to address operational challenges.
- Collaborate with clinical educators to design and implement educational programs for staff development.
- Exhibit strong delegation and prioritization abilities.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current Registered Nurse License.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care, demonstrating clinical knowledge and leadership capabilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in a Charge Nurse role.
