Job Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public facilities, is seeking a skilled Traffic Controller to join our team at the Moscone Center. As a Traffic Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, clients, and staff by managing traffic flow at events, loading ramps, and driveways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report to post in full uniform and ready to work, ensuring a professional and safe environment for all.
  • Oversee and institute daily driveway and ramp status, ensuring smooth traffic flow and minimizing congestion.
  • Direct all deliveries to appropriate receiving points, ensuring timely and efficient receipt of goods.
  • Monitor assigned or permitted parking spaces, preventing unauthorized vehicles and ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the facility via the ramps, maintaining the integrity of our security protocols.
  • Maintain necessary records of ramp activity, logging in all vehicles and/or persons walking down the ramps.
  • Assure that vehicle passes are completed in full and placed inside the vehicle windshield, ensuring compliance with our security procedures.
  • Provide guests and clients with facility information, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established onsite, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Comply with all ASM Global policies and procedures, upholding our commitment to excellence.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Requirements:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with guests, clients, vendors, and other personnel.
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Customer-friendly, self-motivated, and enjoy working around people in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
  • Effectively communicate with guests, clients, vendors, and other personnel via verbal and nonverbal forms of communication, maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
Physical Requirements and Environment:
  • Work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, ensuring the ability to perform tasks with minimal strain.
  • Work is generally performed in a moderately noisy location, requiring adaptability and a willingness to work in a dynamic environment.
  • This position requires substantial long periods of time standing up and walking, ensuring the ability to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and rain, requiring adaptability and a willingness to work in a variety of settings.
  • Able to withstand large crowds, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
