Role Summary:
The Project Manager for Cloud Migration at VDart Inc will be responsible for steering the successful implementation of cloud transformation and migration initiatives. This position entails meticulous planning, coordination, and management of projects to ensure timely completion, adherence to budgetary constraints, and achievement of quality benchmarks. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and clients to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Oversight: Develop detailed project plans that encompass scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. Define milestones, deliverables, and criteria for success. Ensure effective collaboration with cross-functional teams for smooth project execution. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives.
- Cloud Migration Strategy: Formulate strategies for cloud utilization, including business case development and architectural design. Lead the transition of on-premise applications to the cloud, considering options such as re-building with cloud-native technologies or sourcing from Cloud SaaS providers. Architect migration strategies to ensure seamless transitions with minimal operational disruption.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for project stakeholders. Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issues. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals. Engage effectively with application owners, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate and manage resources to meet project demands. Collaborate with HR and other departments to secure necessary resources. Ensure team members are adequately trained and equipped for their roles.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigation. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing contingency plans as needed.
- Quality Control: Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and client expectations. Implement best practices and industry standards in project execution. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Financial Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits. Monitor financial performance and address any variances or risks.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and records. Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
Technical Proficiencies: Proficient in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cloud architecture, and services. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are preferred. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 14 years in IT Infrastructure, with significant experience in managing large-scale cloud migration projects. Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and security principles is essential. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements related to cloud computing is also required.
