AgTexas Farm Credit Services is dedicated to providing support to approximately 2,600 member-borrowers across various sectors, including lending, insurance, appraisal, and leasing. With eleven office locations throughout a 43-county trade area, the association manages an average loan volume of around $2.85 billion and total assets of approximately $3.2 billion. The lending portfolio encompasses a diverse range of agricultural loans, including those for cotton, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate, and agribusiness ventures. AgTexas plays a crucial role in ensuring that farmers and ranchers have the financial resources they need to thrive, ultimately contributing to food and clothing production for the world.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Agribusiness Relationship Officer role is available in any AgTexas office or can be performed remotely within a specified distance from an office location. The salary for this position is negotiable based on the candidate's experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, agricultural economics, or a related discipline is required, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in banking or agricultural lending. This experience should include credit extension, marketing, credit underwriting, administration, and analysis of commercial credits and agribusiness loans. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge of accounting and financial systems, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary, along with the ability to conduct intermediate to advanced-level financial analyses with minimal supervision.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position involves processing and servicing large and/or complex commercial loans, including the evaluation and management of collateral and maintaining accurate accounting records. The Senior Agribusiness Relationship Officer will provide guidance to loan officers on proper commercial loan procedures and will conduct regular assessments of the commercial loan portfolio to ensure compliance with lending policies and regulations.
KEY DUTIES:
- Manage and service large and/or complex commercial loans, conducting thorough credit analyses, including multi-entity transactions.
- Prepare credit presentations for senior management and the loan committee, offering recommendations for loan approvals or denials.
- Oversee credit administration and due diligence for various financial participation packages and loan originations.
- Ensure accurate risk ratings and performance status assignments for all assigned loans.
- Adhere to credit administration practices as outlined in the association's policies.
- Develop new business opportunities in expanding markets while servicing existing agribusiness, commercial, and real estate clients.
- Make informed decisions regarding loan approvals, structures, and pricing, while managing credit risk effectively.
- Assist in loan servicing responsibilities and monitor portfolio conditions.
- Represent the association at community events and maintain positive public relations.
- Lead the analysis of financial information to evaluate the viability of large, complex commercial loans.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
This role requires frequent interaction with customers, departmental staff, and management, as well as collaboration with various financial institutions and professionals in the community.
