Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a skilled Welding Fabrication Supervisor to oversee the fabrication of materials and installation of products. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a team of welders, focusing on safety, quality, and delivery of products to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage the fabrication team to ensure manufacturing objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Enforce safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Production Planning: Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Equipment Selection: Select equipment, planning the layout, and plan the assembly and welding procedure.
  • Component Assembly: Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
  • Welding and Repair: Repair product using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  • Cleaning and Preparation: Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded. Set up, assemble, and tack weld parts.
  • Surface Repair: Build up worn or defective surfaces.
  • Part Assembly: Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Material Cutting: Use plasma equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
  • Equipment Setup: Set up equipment and weld parts, using TIG/MIG on aluminum, stainless steel, and other materials as needed.
  • Part Assembly: Assemble parts by bolting.
  • Product Repair: Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2-year certificate from technical school and minimum 3 years welding experience or a minimum 5 years' welding experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience required.
  • Coaching and Development: Experience coaching and developing employees.
