Principal Research Scientist

Bausch + Lomb is a leading global eye health company dedicated to protecting and enhancing the gift of sight for millions of people around the world. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Scientist to join our research and development team.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative lens care products
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate the safety and efficacy of new formulations
- Lead the development of technical methods and processes for establishing feasibility of prototype products
- Contribute to the development of new product concepts and ideas
- Write technical reports and presentations to communicate results to scientific and non-technical colleagues
- Provide technical expertise and support to project teams
- Mentor and guide junior scientific and technical staff
- Interact with internal and external customers to support new product development
- Contribute to patents, scientific literature, and marketing support documentation
- PhD in chemistry or related biological science discipline
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in formulation research and development
- Proficient with formulating aqueous solutions and evaluating buffer systems, novel polymers, surfactants, and disinfectants
- Experience with physical and wet chemistry techniques (pH, osmolality, surface tension, viscosity, titrations, and dissolution)
- Experience with operation and maintenance of analytical instruments such as HPLC, GPC/SEC, UV/VIS spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy
- Strong data management skills and working knowledge of MS Office product (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Global Document Management Systems preferred
