Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Strategic Resources, Inc. as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This role will involve providing critical healthcare services to detainees in custody at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Health Services Corps (IHSC) Medical Facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services to detainees, including acute, emergent, and chronic care.
  • Work as part of an integrated healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical evaluations, behavioral health care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures as required.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care.
  • Participate in court-ordered treatment plans and provide care to patients with psychiatric illness or life-threatening conditions.
  • Provide full-spectrum healthcare services, including treatment of gender dysphoria and pregnancy.
  • Consult with staff physicians, clinical directors, and IHSC consultants as needed.
  • Provide infirmary care, including admission, discharge, and daily rounds for patients requiring higher levels of care.
  • Interpret Tuberculin skin tests and diagnostic studies, manage Direct Observation Therapy for tuberculosis treatment.
  • Take appropriate infection control actions and adhere to universal precautions.
  • Provide patient education and health promotion services.
  • Assist with preparation for accreditation and ongoing compliance with standards.
  • Attend on-site, regional, and national meetings as required.
  • Complete all initial, annual, and ad-hoc training as required.
  • Participate in credentialing and peer review processes.
  • Facilitate and mentor APP onboarding and training.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • One year of full-time equivalent experience in primary care as a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Current and unrestricted licensure in the state where the duty station is located.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Unrestricted license to prescribe controlled medications from the DEA and in the state where the duty station is located.
  • Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers.
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records and web-based training.
  • Knowledge of regulations regarding patient confidentiality and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Security Requirements
  • Preliminary Favorable Fitness Determination from the Department of Homeland Security's Personnel Security Unit (PSU).
  • Complete Favorable Fitness Determination from PSU upon completion of initial and subsequent background investigations.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency.
  • Residency in the U.S. or its territories for three or more years out of the last five years.
