X-Ray Technologist Job Description

Concentra is seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for performing routine x-ray examinations, preparing patients for radiologic procedures, and operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including escorting them to dressing and x-ray rooms, providing verbal and written instructions, and assisting with positioning body parts for radiography.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes, positioning equipment and adjusting controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure patient and team member safety.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order, reporting malfunctions to the Center Operations Director.
  • Follow radiologic workflows and ensure accurate documentation of patient x-ray visits.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinicians, including triaging emergent patients as needed.
  • Prepare and assist clinicians with procedure setup and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by treating clinicians.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by treating clinicians, in accordance with state regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of state-approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license by the state in which employed, if applicable.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) is preferred.
