Pride Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Professional to join our team in Frisco, TX.

Job Details:

Location: Frisco, TX 75034

Duration: 3 months Contract (Possibility of extension)

Shift: M-F, 7 AM-6 PM (40 hours/week)

Estimated Salary: $19-21/hour ($38,400 - $43,200 per year)

Responsibilities

As a Medical Support Professional, your primary duties will include:

  • Interpreting and carrying out provider orders
  • Assisting physicians and/or associate practitioners with procedures and treatments
  • Escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information
  • Recording patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaints
  • Giving instructions to patients as instructed by physicians or associate practitioners
  • Documenting all patient-related communication and interventions in electronic medical records
  • Updating patient health monitors at each visit
  • Working on GAP reports and recall lists for clinical quality measures
  • Utilizing CINA sheets
  • Preparing and administering medications using aseptic technique
  • Observing patient response to medications and reporting adverse events to providers
  • Performing phlebotomy and specimen collection in accordance with Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) standards
  • Maintaining lab specimen logs
  • Coordinating out-patient testing and referrals, as well as hospital pre-admission when necessary
  • Scanning referral letters, x-ray reports, and lab results in patient EMRs per clinic protocol
  • Maintaining logs and required checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, equipment sterilization)
  • Preparing, restocking, and disinfecting examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab areas, and other patient care areas
  • Taking telephone and email messages, as well as medication refill requests, from patients and providing feedback and answers to patients/physicians/pharmacy per physician protocol
  • Collecting data and processing messages from patients and front office to physicians and associate providers
  • Adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Representing the clinic as a professional, treating all patients and fellow employees with courtesy and cooperation
  • Maintaining confidentiality according to USMD policy and procedures and HIPAA requirements
  • Attending required meetings
  • Participating in team activities and professional development activities
  • Maintaining professional CEUs in accordance with state certification board
  • Performing other duties assigned by office supervisors, site managers, or practice administrators
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or willing to obtain within 180 days
  • Active CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Tuberculosis screening and proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
  • Covid-19 Vaccine current or obtained before November 30th, 2021
