Senior Director of Accounting Policy and Financial Reporting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold thorough accounting policies and procedures that align with GAAP, SEC regulations, and other applicable standards.
  • Perform technical research, analyze, and deliver accounting guidance on intricate business transactions and atypical scenarios.
  • Supervise the preparation and evaluation of financial statements, related reporting schedules, and Contract Asset reports, ensuring precision, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Direct the financial reporting team in generating quarterly and annual reports, including 10-Q and 10-K submissions, along with the creation of Accounting Memos and Disclosure Checklists.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and provide financial insights and guidance on reporting issues.
  • Design and implement internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial reporting; lead initiatives to enhance reporting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Mentor and train accounting personnel, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Assist senior executives, including the CFO and corporate controller, with financial analysis and reporting as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and reporting obligations; familiarity with IFRS is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and SEC filings.
  • At least 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 6 years in a senior role concentrating on accounting policy and financial reporting.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of accounting professionals is preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Capability to stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and evaluate their implications for the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
