Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Technologist I plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena. This position assists physicians in performing diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures, working closely with staff to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with minimal assistance.
- Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy, monitoring procedure and documenting inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab event log.
- Maintains ECG setup and rhythm monitoring, as well as basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring.
- Assists in preparation of the room with fellow staff members for safe and effective patient care.
- Performs required checks on all safety equipment and ensures adequate supplies are present to perform procedures.
- Transports patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
Requirements:
- RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, either from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within three (3) months of hire and thereafter maintained.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 0-6 months of work experience in a related field.
