We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of care.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing engine and electrical repairs on power generation equipment, including engine-driven generators and automatic transfer switches.
  • Performing work on power generation equipment located at customer sites or in our local shop.
  • Using safe practices when operating our service truck.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on power generation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Starting up new power generation equipment and performing warranty work as needed.
  • Processing paperwork and electronic submissions in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a parts inventory of our service truck.
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call technician rotation to ensure that our customers receive prompt support.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge to perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • A willingness to participate in training to increase generator knowledge.
  • Common hand tools and electrical meters to perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.

  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Quick learning and adaptability.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.

  • Good written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent travel to customer locations, working in varying weather conditions, and exposure to potential hazards. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and possess the ability to work safely around electricity and other potential hazards.
