Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Equipment Specialist to join our team at Washington Hospital Center. As an Orthopedic Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering, assembling, adjusting, maintaining, and storing orthopedic equipment, soft goods, and other related clinical support equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and Set Up Equipment: Deliver various types of orthopedic equipment, soft goods, and other clinical support equipment to patient care areas, and set up equipment according to physician orders.
  • Collect and Clean Equipment: Collect, clean, and distribute medical equipment to inpatient and surgical departments.
  • Assist with Inventory Management: Assist with periodic inventory; may perform rounds to verify usage and proper functioning of equipment, and inform the Lead Orthopedic Technician of any inventory shortages.
  • Provide Patient Education: Instruct patients on simple exercises, cast care, and use of crutches, etc.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: May require up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training, and 6 months to 1 year of experience as an Orthopedic Technician or Equipment Assistant.
Compensation

This position has a hiring range of $18.791 - $27.933.
