Role Summary:

In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of engineering and problem-solving methodologies to manage a range of intricate tasks related to the formulation, execution, and upkeep of quality assurance protocols and operational guidelines. This ensures compliance with stringent company standards and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the DJO Global instrument re-sourcing initiative, which aims to boost offshore supplier contributions to our instrument requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our incoming inspection department and suppliers to streamline inspection processes while maintaining high product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate inspection methodologies and techniques applied by DJO Global on implant and instrument products.
  • Assess CMM programs for their appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance their inspection capabilities, enabling them to conduct final inspections independently.
  • Draft and implement supplier inspection certifications and validations.
  • Conduct process capability PQs to minimize inspection needs.
  • Analyze protocols and reports to ensure adherence to quality system standards.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Operations in addressing quality or compliance issues.
  • Engage in complex special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Medical Device, Aeronautics, Automotive, or other highly regulated sectors is essential.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be eligible for international travel without restrictions.

Travel Expectations:

  • Up to 20% travel may be required.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality standards.
  • Understanding of technical writing quality and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in metrology, precision machining, grinding, product cleaning, and sterilization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Knowledge of CMM programming.
  • Familiarity with software packages such as Solidworks, Solidworks ePDM, Oracle R12, Agile PLM, and PC-DMIS is advantageous.
  • Certifications in CQE, Lean, or Six Sigma are preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical inspection and related equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
