Job Summary:

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists with the distribution of medication, inventory control, and other critical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medication for inpatient and outpatient use.
  • Conduct inventory control and maintain accurate records of medication and supplies.
  • Perform TPN calculations and prepare chemotherapeutic medications.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of pharmacy terminology and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Basic computer literacy and keyboarding/data entry skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications.
  • Advanced Pharmacy Technician knowledge of pharmacy terminology and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Current registration for Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • I.V. Certification completed within 3 months of hire.

Education and Training:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
