Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care using standard physical therapy procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct patients and family members on therapeutic exercises and home care programs.
  • Assist Physical Therapist in patient evaluation and assessment of functional skills.
  • Provide individual patient treatment, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, and mat mobility.
  • Perform prosthetic training, administer modality treatments, and measure and recommend equipment such as wheelchairs and orthoses.
  • Participate in chart rounds, admission and discharge conferences, family conferences, and team development conferences.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy with coursework in anatomy, biology, physiology, and psychology.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a PTA in the state of Michigan.
