Job Summary:

Germanna Community College is seeking a part-time mathematics instructor to join our faculty team. As a mathematics instructor, you will be responsible for teaching mathematics courses to students with varying academic backgrounds and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach mathematics courses in a classroom environment, including online courses
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse students
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and incorporate best practices into your teaching
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements:

  • Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics or a related field
  • Official transcripts required prior to final offer
  • Ability to use relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching and learning
  • Commitment to student engagement and support in online teaching environments
  • Technology capability to teach remotely
  • Ability to teach in a variety of modalities, including virtually
  • Commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience
  • Work experience in the field of mathematics
  • Experience with online teaching
  • Substantial experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses
