What You'll Do

As an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist, you will play a key role in assisting our client with ongoing projects that require expertise in standard costing, financial planning and analysis, and working capital. This position offers the opportunity to work with a leading chemical manufacturer and develop your skills in technical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze cost performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and forecasts. Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with various departments to develop and manage budgets and forecasts. Prepare financial models and projections to support business planning.

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports, providing insights into cost trends and performance to aid senior management in decision-making.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings. Utilize tools like Excel and financial software for data analysis.

  • Work closely with other departments, such as operations and engineering, to understand their financial needs and provide support in managing their budgets.

  • Evaluate all financial activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of experience with standard costing and inventory.

  • 3+ years of experience working with a manufacturing organization with a revenue of $500 Million+ and/or has multiple lines of business, international functions, and/or is a matrixed organization.

  • 3+ years working within large data sets in excel

  • 5+ years of experience in a mid-to-senior level cost or FP&A role.

  • Experience with SAP within the past 5 years of career.

  • Experience with cost, actuals, standard, costing, variance, and inventory reporting for 150+ SKUs.

  • Proficient in Excel (create pivot tables, v-lookups, SUMIFs)

  • Ability to commit to an assignment at minimum through the end of March with potential to extend into Q4 2025 and beyond

Salary Range

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $90.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
