The successful candidate will provide a range of services to our student athletes, including individual and group counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, and outreach programming. You will work closely with our coaching staff, sports medicine team, and other campus partners to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our student athletes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health services to student athletes, including individual and group counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff, sports medicine team, and other campus partners to promote a comprehensive approach to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of student athletes.
  • Develop and implement outreach programming to promote mental health and wellbeing among student athletes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide referrals for hospital psychiatric evaluations as needed.
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotation after-hours and weekends.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Must be licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in New York State.
  • Understanding of NCAA mandates and mental health best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to three years experience in collegiate athletic setting.
  • Eligibility or Certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).
  • Eligibility or Certification as a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS).
  • Demonstrated dedication and attentiveness to social justice issues and intersectionality in serving historically marginalized students.
