Job Summary:
Marist College Office of Counseling Services seeks a senior mental performance psychologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of services to student athletes and students with disordered eating concerns. This is a full-time, 12-month position that involves provision of intakes, individual and group counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, and outreach programming. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with student athletes and students with disordered eating concerns, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide intakes, individual and group counseling services to student athletes and students with disordered eating concerns.
  • Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions, and facilitate referrals for hospital psychiatric evaluations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including Health Services and Sports Medicine, to address the intersection of mental health and physical well-being.
  • Work with coaching and sports medicine staff to ensure comprehensive approaches to supporting college athlete well-being.
  • Participate in Eating Disorder Treatment team meetings.
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotation after hours and weekends.
  • Provide consultations to faculty, staff, students, administration, and families on student behavioral and mental health concerns.
  • Coordinate and participate in outreach and student affairs programming.
  • Maintain current, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional guidelines.

Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in New York State.
  • Understanding of NCAA mandates and mental health best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to three years experience in collegiate athletic setting.
  • Eligibility or Certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).
  • Eligibility or Certification as a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS).
  • Demonstrated dedication and attentiveness to social justice issues and intersectionality in serving historically marginalized students.
  • Committed self-care practice to maintain resilience.
  • Interest, experience, and commitment to facilitating groups.
  • Effective at designing and presenting trainings and outreach programs.
  • Flexibility in responding to high demand for services and changing program needs.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
