Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Description

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize equipment, instruments, and computer systems to perform laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Evaluate and report patient results using independent judgment within established testing methods.
  • Perform quality control procedures and contribute to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
  • Train new employees and/or students in laboratory procedures and serve as a resource for less experienced staff.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and/or high complexity testing environment.
  • Blood Bank and Meditech Lab experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology required with required licensure/certification and with equivalent experience.
